Petite tête, mixed techniques on wood panel, 10 x 10 po
Multidisciplinary artist born in Montreal Line St Jean studied visual and aesthetic art presentation. The unexpected, the material and the textures intuitively guide her gesture and impose their shapes.
Fascinated by the imprint of time and traces left by usury , her works are marked by movement and disturbances that recall an existence that precedes us. The notion of Wabi-Sabi present in Japanese culture resonates in her and influences her artistic research as much as her being. Line uses various techniques such as textile printing and furniture patina to transmit her philosophy which consists in respecting and even admiring what is fragile, ephemeral and aging.
Between heaven and earth, between darkness and light, cycles of life, past and present rub shoulders.
