Mtl en arts take a break in 2025

After 25 years of promoting artistic talent, the Mtl en Arts Festival will be taking a break in 2025. This decision is part of a strategic reflection on the organization and the exploration of new artistic projects that have long inspired us.

This pause comes at a time of many challenges for artists, cultural workers and local organizations. It seems essential to rethink the model and ways of working in order to guarantee the sustainability of our mission.

In the coming months, a process of reflection and repositioning will be put in place, to better respond to the needs of the artistic milieu and the communities we serve.

This period of transition is essential to build a renewed vision, strengthen our impact and ensure a promising future for the festival and the projects supported by the organization.

Many thanks to our loyal partners – Ville de Montréal, Tourisme Montréal, Tourisme Québec, SDC du Village, Heritage Canada, Pébéo, Fugues and many others – who have already confirmed or expressed their support for the 2025 edition.

The continued support of our partners fosters confidence in the future of the organization, and confirms the value of our artistic commitment.

SPOKEPERSON FOR MTL EN ARTS

« I’ve been following this festival for a few years now, and I’ve always really enjoyed it. I see this as an opportunity to help restore the Village’s reputation, which has suffered greatly in recent years. What’s more, I’ll have the opportunity to once again give visibility to an organization like Interligne, which is still close to my heart. I’m already looking forward to June 27!

– Dany Turcotte, spokesperson for Mtl en Arts

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Mtl en Arts was created as a community event to support and promote the visual arts and celebrate local creativity. The festival brings together the artists of today and tomorrow to connect with the general public. Accessible, free, inclusive and festive, Mtl in the Arts will present from June 27 to July 1st, 2024 more than 100 local artists, from various disciplines, expressing themselves through different mediums, coming from different backgrounds, but all committed to sharing their achievements.

Based on the principle of interactivity and mediation, the event is meant to be transversal and playful, inviting each individual to take part in the creation and to understand its workings. An exhibition, 15 interactive activities, a youth space and a musical stage are all located in the Village, transforming the rue Sainte Catherine into an open-air gallery and attracting no less than 100,000 visitors in 5 days.
