Mélanie Lefebvre was born in Montreal in 1976 and, at the age of 28, after working for many years in graphic design as a project manager, Mélanie left everything to become an artist. She returned to school full time at UQAM to complete her certificate and bachelor’s degree in visual arts. She quickly discovers a passion for painting. As soon as she graduated from university, several galleries in Montreal and the surrounding area exhibited her work, while La Collection Loto-Québec acquired two of her paintings from her Horizons production. She will participate in a group exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Sherbrooke, New York and in several other international events (London, Miami, Toronto) as an artistic duo with her lover. She will live in Montreal until 2010 before moving to Shefford, where she will build her house and studio to become a full-time painter.
