MFB is a visual artist from the Outaouais region who is currently working in Montreal, Quebec. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University which she completed in 2012. In 2013, she presented her first solo exhibition Yes No at Galerie BAC(Montreal). She also presented her work at the Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay for a group exhibition in 2017. She was also part of the first edition ofARTch in 2018 organized by Art Souterrain. In 2019, she participated in an Icelandic residency to develop her visual research in painting.MFB questions the security of the spaces delineated by the walls of our homes in those intimate places where identity is revealed. Adept of vandalism, she uses a precision knife to extract visual information from found photographs. This method allows her to arrange places where she becomes the host. The use of vernacular photographs places her in a devout position that she shares and delegates to the observers. She persists between representation and abstraction, between the sensuality of painting and the larigidity of collage. Many of her works are found in private collections in Canada, the United States, France and Finland.
